The tragic events of the last day of Pesach, Saturday, April 27 at Chabad of Poway and the massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue six months ago tell us that our community needs to act now to strengthen our security and ensure our continued safety, with G-dās help.
An URGENT SECURITY FUND is being established to deal exclusively with this need.
The Security Fund will benefit several Chabad Houses in the area. The overall goal is $295,000, of which Chabad Palo Alto's goal is $150,000.
Our $150,000 goal includes the following:
Armed Security Guards for Shabbat and Major Holiday Observances (two years) $50,000
Armed Security Guard for Sunday JAMS - $9,000
Perimeter protection - $65,000
Staff and Community Training - $15,000
Lighting and surveillance upgrades - $11,000
Together, we will bring safety and security to our community. We pray that Hashem, the Guardian if Israel, will bless our efforts to be only preventive measures, and that we continue to share only happy occasions together. May we speedily merit the arrival of Moshiach, ushering in a time of peace and blessing for all humanity.
Sincerely,
The Chabad Security Committee:
